I have an aching headsplit.

I'm not complaining. No mam. No sir. Il Agente sent me out on my first television audition today, and I have to say, for a two line part, I managed to get called back for a larger role. Who knows what will happen, nor do I really care. Getting a paycheck to cover November's rent would be nice, but I have never had any aspiriations to delve into the character of a wine salesman.

That being said: the actual amount of time I spent in the room with the director, producer, and casting director was a total of about 5 minutes... prescreen and callback together. I spent about 3 hours waiting to get into that room with a bunch of other actors who, in general, do not know how to handle the stress of auditioning for a three line part. I walked out with an incredible headache that has now just subsided due to two beautiful tabs of Tylenol.

Someone told me once that film and tv can be summed up with the phrase, "Hurry up and wait". That proved true today, and I have a sneaking suspicion I've experienced the norm in this particular field of my art. Hooray!
