His Holiness.

Debbie and I went to Qwest Stadium with a Mr. Paul Getzel to see the Dalai Lama on Saturday. Who says living the vagabond lifestyle doesn't pay off? Paul graciously invited us and we graciously accepted. After a wonderful breakfast on Capitol Hill and a nice walk on the waterfront, we headed down to the stadium. To be honest, the speaking preceding and proceeding His Holiness reconfirmed my general distaste in the politics of large non-profits, but his speech was amazing.

Why? He was funny, irreverent, humble and genuine. He stumbled over translations, joked around, and all the while offered practical advice for all. When asked "How do we convince our world leaders to use non-violent means in their leadership", he laughed quite heartily and simply said, "I don't know".

Best thing I've heard in a long time.
