Westward Ho.

Charlie, the green Subaru, picked me up in Chicago with all smiles. Trying to beat the weather, we headed out a day earlier than planned, much to our good fortune. Another cold front came in a blasted Illinois with snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. We were more than happy to leave. We ended up going through St. Louis, deciding to take the Southern route to enjoy a more temperate ride. The picture above is not the famous cross you see at the I57/I70 interchange. Rather, a duplicate cross exists somewhere in central Oklahoma.

Ah the Bible Belt. Some of the best porn shops can be found there.

After passing through New Mexico (my birthplace, Ole!) and Arizona, we made a impulsive choice to drive up the 89 past the eastern portion of the Grand Canyon, through Kanab, and eventually past Brian Head. Here's a lovely picture of us in the mountains about 20 minutes away from Cedar City. It was absolutely gorgeous that day.

Once we set up shop in Salt Lake, Debbie decided that it was imperative that a second Guitar Hero guitar must be purchased. We spent many a night trying to master Black Magic Woman. Impossible song. I love it.

Then came the food. After Debbie took me to her local haunts in the city (Big H Burgers rock), we made a few meals on our own. Advantageous that a Wild Oats is a five minute drive from her apartment. God bless salami. Oh I love you so.

I'm in Portland now. I feel very clean in this city. I feel like I need to grow a beard to fit in. Is that normal?

Good for you Michael. I admire your balls to pick up and go. I wish you the absolute best. If you make it out this way please give me a call. The number is the same. Jason Maddy.

then i stopped. and audibly laughed at the memory of maria pallas tying to pronounce 'Poche.'
