I'm sitting here in my new kitchen hanging out with my new roommate Matthew-Lee waiting for my other new roommate Jesse to come back from New Hampshire with a truckload of goodies. He's a little late, but Jesse is always a little late.
This apartment is what I classify a "fixer-upper". Due to the skeeziness of New York Metro landlords, our apartment was not in the best condition when we arrived. Thanks to digital cameras and receptacles that catch dripping water, we are confident that we will not have to pay full rent next month.
That being said, this place is amazing. Very spacious, haunted in parts, quirky, cozy, and very fun. It's going to take a while before getting it up to our standards. It took me three hours to clean a small bathroom because of the caked-on grime. Give us a couple of weeks to start it up, and it will be classy in no time.
Expect pictures soon!

Hey! Congratulations, guys and welcome to the island! Certainly sounds like a happening pad! Can't wait to drop by and borrow a cup of sugar when I get home (or a cup of bourbon will do)!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see it and do some couch crashing; just make sure my room is equipped with hot towels and mints on the pillows.
ReplyDeletemiss you,

Sounds like a great adventure. I am glad you all have eachother. It's tough when everyone is on a different wave length. Congrats on the Washington gig. Do us proud. I am sure you will.
