Indoor Theatre Adventure

When doing a matinee performance of an outdoor stage show, everything moves to the indoor auditorium. For the actors this means some moderate blocking changes and voice projection modifications. The best/worst part of the entire thing is using the "tunnel" that connects the dressing rooms to the backstage area of the indoor theatre. Here's a quick look of how to get from point A to point B.

Start in the Laundry Room.

This connects to the boiler room.

This is the start of the tunnel.

Directly under the audience.

Watch your head!

Bit of an obstacle course here.

Good place to shoot a horror movie.

That is a 4 foot tall doorway you see!

The other side.

On to the indoor stage!

  3. when i was in undergrad at suu we filmed a horror movie in the tunnel. we also did an AMAZING haunted house using it. we spread peanut shells on the floor so it sounded like you were stepping on bugs (but of course it smelled like peanut butter, too)

oh, and i have a GREAT scar from the tunnel. don't run in the tunnel, btw. it could be bad.
