Over the last few days, lightning strikes have caused a series of moderate to serious brush fires through Iron County, Utah. The picture above shows cars pulling off Interstate 15 as a result of these fires making the freeway impassable due to smoke. The smell in the air reminds me of my childhood days in Stayton, OR when farmers would field burn. Exactly the same smell.
Oh yes...the smell of field burning in Stayton..it still can ruin a perfect summer afternoon.
